Remember

  • When selecting a tyre, always choose one that matches your usage in the best possible way. In addition to the three characteristics, there are a number of other factors related to safety, performance, and the environment that tyre developers and testers take into account.
  • Although the new label makes it easier to compare tyre models, you should also support your decision by consulting the following, for example tyre retail experts or independent magazine test articles.
  • The wet grip rating for a tyre does not indicate how suitable the tyre is for the real winter weather. Instead, it may be misleading and endanger traffic safety. In demanding and varying winter conditions, the most important safety characteristics for tyres are ice grip and snow grip.

SUPERB GRIP AND BALANCED DRIVING FEEL

Van tires are specialty products designed for hard and versatile use. They need to be sturdy enough to handle heavy loads and varying road conditions safely and reliably. The Alpine Sense Grip concept masters all the wintry weather challenges ensuring a predictable and balanced driving feel. The concept consists of innovative features combining the tire's tread design, rubber compound and structure, which makes handling balanced and easy to control even with heavy loads and challenging weather conditions.

DURABLE AND FUEL EFFICIENT

The durability of the Nokian Tyres Snowproof C is maximized thanks to Nokian Tyres’ unique Aramid Sidewall technology. The extremely strong aramid fibers strengthen the sidewalls providing more durability and protection for demanding driving situations. When loads are high, rolling resistance can really affect the fuel bill. The rubber compound of the Nokian Tyres Snowproof C is optimized for heavy use, which allows it to work safely across a wide temperature range and to reduce rolling resistance.

SAFETY FOR ALL WINTER CONDITIONS

The Alpine Sense Grip concept consists of innovative features combining the tire's tread design, rubber compound and structure. The winter optimized tread pattern with tailored, aggressive siping and multiple edges offers grip and safety for varying winter conditions and makes handling balanced and easy to control. The Alpine Grip tread compound performs well in a wide temperature range and offers impressive snow and wet grip with excellent wear resistance. The strong tire structure combined with Aramid Sidewall technology offers unique durability and improved wear life.

IMPROVED GRIP WITH MORE DRIVING COMFORT

Extra grip for snowy roads. Placed between the tread blocks to provide balanced grip on ice and snow, the Snow Claws work best during braking and accelerating. The slush and water channels in the middle of the tread are designed to maximize slushplaning and aquaplaning resistance. These channels store water and slush between the tire and the road and accelerate the flow away from the tire.

Driving comfort is always a key element. The new tread pattern, computer optimized tread blocks and structure of the new Nokian Tyres Snowproof C all aim to maximize comfort and pleasant sound levels.

DRIVING SAFETY INDICATOR

Nokian Tyres Snowproof C features the Driving Safety Indicator (DSI), which helps the driver know when they should change their tires. The weardown indicator shows the remaining tread depth in millimeters. The numbers fade away as the tire wears down. For safe winter driving, the required groove depth is between 4 and 5 millimetres. The snowflake symbol remains visible until the groove depth is four millimetres. Once the snowflake symbol wears off, the driver should buy new tires to ensure adequate driving safety.
