Whipping seven tons of steel into record-breaking speeds in the extreme conditions of the Arctic Circle is not a job for wussies. We knew we needed a man with the skills and the balls to get the job done. Meet Juha Kankkunen, winner of 23 world rallies and four drivers' world championship titles. The invitation to attempt a world-record proved irresistible.
What better counterpoint to a charging behemoth of a tractor than the nimble snowmobile skills of Joni Maununen? He is no stranger to crazy stunts himself, free-riding impossible terrain in the winter and pulling snowmobile wheelies on a lake during the summer. The only man crazy enough to challenge a tractor-riding Juha Kankkunen.
