The new Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D – superior grip and stability in the long haul

The newest member of the legendary Nokian Hakkapeliitta winter tyre family, Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D offers reliable grip and excellent driving comfort for long-haul freight and bus traffic. The first new size, 315/80R22.5, is already available.

In addition to providing an exceptionally firm grip typical of all Hakkapeliitta tyres, this new winter traction tyre performs smoothly and reliably on the rough northern roads. This new product is particularly intended for on-road use. It extends the Hakkapeliitta range of products mastering the most demanding winter conditions, designed for heavy-duty professionals by the northernmost tyre manufacturer in the world.

Precise driving response

Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck tyres feature a successful combination of modern technology and unique innovation. Thanks to the numerous innovative properties increasing safety and enhancing the driving response, Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D is at the top of its class.

The dense lateral siping enhances grip during traction and braking. The tread sipe activators support siping and guarantee driving safety even in dynamic weather conditions. The Traction Booster sawtooth pattern on the tyre surface provides improved longitudinal grip.

Further enhancing the winter grip and stability, the tyre features a dual-layer cap & base structure and a tread rubber compound particularly tailored for the challenging northern conditions. The compound features excellent functionality over a wide temperature range and endures hard wear.

Enhanced wear resistance

Excellent wear resistance of the tyre is achieved via a special rubber compound and with the carefully designed block division of the resilient tread pattern: the pattern steps align with the irregularities of the road surface. The optimised block division and even surface pressure also ensure even tyre wear. Thanks to the deep 3D siping, Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D maintains its outstanding grip for a long time, even when worn.

This characteristically light-footed rolling grip saves fuel, whilst remaining firm. It features an exceptionally low rolling resistance, which maximises cost savings by reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. The modern tread design and optimised block division ensures comfortably quiet driving: the noise level is up to 3 dB quieter than that of its predecessor. Similar to all Nokian Hakkapeliitta tyres, the environmentally friendly Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D is made without high-aromatic oils.

Enhanced safety with safety indicators

The simple safety indicators make it easy to monitor the wear of the tyres and enhances safety. Developed and patented by Nokian Tyres, the Driving Safety Indicator (DSI) indicates in numbers how many millimetres of tread there is left on the main grooves of the tyre.

The Winter Safety Indicator (WSI) indicates how long the tyre has solid winter grip properties. When the snowflake symbol has worn down, the tyre is still in a suitable condition for summer use.

The new product is also available as Nokian Noktop Hakkapeliitta D retreading material, equally designed and tested for demanding conditions, which has proven to be a cost-efficient option.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D is particularly targeted at the Nordic region and other Nokian Tyres market regions with a demand for truck tyres suitable for demanding winter use.
